ALTERNATIVE TREATMENTS

Over these past 25 years I have learned a lot about different alternatives to conventional treatments. I have used and implemented different techniques and different products.

Here is a list of methods I use now on a regular basis because I have seen it work beautifully on so many dogs and horses.

CHIROPRACTIC

Most of you have probably used the service of a chiropractitioner. It works really well particularly with older dogs, working dogs like border collies, dogs who are incontinent, just to name a few. I kept my old dog Jessie moving and walking right until she passed away at nearly 14. The same with Noodle - she has many joint and bone issues due to her severe mange as a puppy.

It is important to find a good animal chiro who knows his/her stuff. For the Vancouver area, I recommend Dr. Petra Rutz - she has done wonders for many dogs I have taken to her.

In Petra's words: "Just like people, animals can have problems with their spine or other joints but they can’t tell us what’s wrong."

There is also a clinic in Fort Langley, BC. And I am sure there is one close to you wherever you live.

HTA (HEALING TOUCH FOR ANIMALS)

I have often used the services of Karen Wickerson, Animal Communicator + Energy Therapy Practitioner and again, I have seen results with this practitioner in so many animals. She works on dogs, cats, horses, donkeys, rabbits, goats.

As Karen explains, "Energy Therapy is a type of holistic modality used to support and compliment the treatment of illness, trauma, behavioural issues or injury by restoring the body’s natural energy fields to facilitate/promote self-healing. The techniques used follow the protocols of Healing Touch for Animals (HTA), which is a set of very specific and structured techniques designed specifically to support large and small animals’ energy structures."

The one thing I noticed with all of the animals I have seen her work with - after the 2nd and 3rd treatment there was a new life force in place.

Karen is the only board certified practitioner in Canada.

HOMEOPATHY

Homeopathy - in all its glory - is my passion.

Homeopathy is a system of alternative medicine created in 1796 by Samuel Hahnemann based on his doctrine of like cures like (similia similibus curentur), a claim that a substance that causes the symptoms of a disease in healthy people would cure similar symptoms in sick people.

I have studied homeopathy for the past 30 years, I have taken many courses and most of all - I always keep on learning. When you have the remedy just right it works so fast. And if it's not quite the correct remedy there is no harm done. No side effects.

Schuessler Cell Salts fall under the umbrella of homeopathy — check out this very informative little hand book: Schuessler Tissue Salts Handbook.

FOOD AS MEDICINE

Kathy Karmer says it best:

“It’s time to prove what a lot of us already suspect - that a whole food, plant based diet is good for us, it’s good for the planet and ultimately, it’s good for our dogs!

The world would be a nicer place if everyone had the ability to love as unconditionally as a dog.

PURPOSE

My purpose is to share my 25+ year journey of continous learning and breakthroughs in my quest to have healthy 4-legged companions.

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy of life is clear and simple: do the absolute best you can for your fellow beings, whether they are two-legged or four-legged, and expect nothing less from those surrounding you.

Once you have had a wonderful dog, a life without one, is a life diminished.
